We spent the last 4 days in Denver visiting friends.  It was a lovely trip, just a bit too much driving on either end of it.  Not that western Kansas isn’t beautiful (eye roll).  I was so anxious to see my seedlings when I returned.  My husband laughed as I literally ran over to the workbench in the garage to check their progress…not that I couldn’t see it from the car!

Just to remind everyone, here’s where we were when we left:

The zucchinis have gone absolutely wild!

And behold…some new arrivals!  I have been awaiting the peppers, and I think the warmer temperatures (both air temps and having the grow light closer to them) finally coaxed them above the surface.

And last but not least, signs of life from the jalapenos.  They were the last hold outs, so it seems everything I have grown is sprouting.  That makes me so proud and happy!

After hour 8+ hour car drive home today, I couldn’t wait to grab my shovel and dig some more rocks out of the garden.  I know, it sounds weird, but as someone who needs a little solitude and physical activity to stay sane, it was probably the best thing I could do this evening!  Plus, the beds really need the work if I’m gonna plant these seedlings in the next few weeks.
